Switzerland Tourism (ST) is committed to the worldwide promotion of Switzerland as a holiday destination, alongside highlighting the attractiveness of the country for multiple purposes: as an all –year- long perfect holiday destination, under the slogan: “Switzerland. get natural.”, but also as the ideal setting for business travels and conferences.

Under a clearly defined contemporary concept of Swissness are gathered the many qualities of Switzerland that make it the ideal holiday destination: quality, nature, authenticity, sustainability and modernity. To do so, ST has developed a systematic marketing strategy consisting of implementing creatively a full range of promotional and sales activities with its partners.

The marketing organization has a long history. By federal mandate it has been promoting Switzerland at home and worldwide for more than 90 years. ST is a public corporation. Its board comprises 13 representatives from tourism, business and industry associations. ST’s president is Mr. Jean-François Roth, while Mr. Jürg Schmid is responsible for operational management.

Headquartered in Zürich, ST has a presence in 27 countries, employing 242 people. In China, Switzerland Tourism runs three offices: in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong, with a team of currently 10 employees.

Chinese tourism to Switzerland has been soaring, with a steep growth of roughly 30 percent over the past decade. In 2014, our Chinese friends have hit the 1 million overnight mark, making China Switzerland’s 5th strongest foreign source market, right after Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, and France..
